Game Creation Platform – Terra

The Terra Game Platform is being designed for a digital game creation startup to streamline the workflows for game creation. The objective was to envision and design intuitive workflows that would simplify the game development process for users with limited knowledge of entire game development pipleline.

Role and Responsibilites

My responsibilities included:

  • Workflow Design: Created concepts user flows for user-friendly workflows of game creation.
  • User Research Analysis: Analysed research findings to understand the needs and affinities of game developers.
  • UI/UX Design: Designed the user interface and experience for the platform for ease in game creation.

    Challenges

    • User Diversity: Catering to a wide range of user skills and experience levels.
    • Complex Processes: Simplifying complex game development processes into a complete no code environment.

      Approach to Design

      • User Research: Based on data from interviews conducted and surveys with game developers I synthesied various approaches to game workflows.
      • Workflow Prototyping: Developed initial workflow prototypes and validated them with users and inhouse game designers.
      • Iterative Design: Iterated on the designs based on user feedback to ensure usability and efficiency and most importantly ease of use to increase adoption.

      Solution

      • Intuitive Workflows: Designed workflows that were easy to follow, even for novice developers.
      • Comprehensive UI: Created a user interface that provided all necessary tools and information at a glance.

      Result and Impact

      • Improved Usability: Significantly enhanced the ease of use for the platform.
      • User Satisfaction: Received positive signals on design direction by seeing increased user ability create simple game scenarios without external help. This ensured that a ground work is laid for further Design and Research for the platform.
